The 2025 edition of the SEALS Cup is set to begin in dramatic fashion, with the opening fixture serving up a replay of last year’s unforgettable final between MBBS and IPE. The highly anticipated curtain-raiser promises to reignite the fierce rivalry between both sides and set the tone for what looks to be a thrilling tournament.
The group stage draw, released earlier this month, has already sparked excitement and speculation among fans and players alike. In Group B, Pharmacy, led by the familiar duo of Afeez and Musty, will lock horns once again with Chemistry and Statistics in what appears to be a tactical battleground of minds and muscles.
Meanwhile, the Economics team will be breathing a sigh of relief after what many see as a favourable draw. Having suffered repeated exits at the group stage in previous editions, they’ll be hoping this year finally breaks the curse.
The female category is no less exciting. In a rare twist of fate, all Faculty of Education teams have been drawn into Group A, setting up intense intra-faculty showdowns that are sure to test both familiarity and rivalry.
Elsewhere, MBBS finds itself in another tricky group alongside neighbours Physiotherapy and the side from the Faculty of Law. In Group C, AFAS giants, Philosophy, will be looking to assert their dominance against younger Pharmacy and Computer Science sides eager to cause an upset.
With rivalries renewed and fresh narratives unfolding, the stage is set for another thrilling chapter in the Seals Cup legacy.
The opening ceremony of the competition is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 21st of May, 2025.
