The 11th speaker of the University of Ibadan Students' Representative Council, Opegbemi Matthias Busoye has emerged one of the winners impactful young leader award at the Oyo youth summit.
The categories of the award include advocacy, governance, sport and so on. Matthias won in the education category.
In an interview with Zik Press, Matthias appreciated God, the school, his department, his twin brother, his friends and the people who voted for him. He also thanked the Oyo State government for the initiative and for the award.
According to him, when he saw the nomination, he felt he was deserving of the award in the education category. He also recalled his experiences throughout the nomination and voting process, grateful that he was able to win.
As a word of advice to the readers, Mathias said, "To everyone reading this, don't give up. Whatever you think you deserve, whatever you want, as long as you're willing to put in the work, please go for it. Don't let anyone talk you down. Don't let your own inner voice talk down to you. Please go all the way. You might end up winning it. The worst you can get is a loss, and that's not the end of the world.
