In a keynote address, senior campus journalist, Aduwo Ayodele, charged the newly sworn-in members to uphold accuracy, professionalism and courage in their reportage, noting that hall politics had become increasingly sensitive.

“The state of politics in the hall is like a fire on the mountain, and this makes responsible reporting more important than ever,” he said.

Aduwo urged the new board to see credible reporting as its strongest tool, advising members to work closely with the University of Ibadan Campus Journalists’ Union to maintain ethical standards.

Also speaking, a representative of the Elders’ Committee, Mr Meroyi, commended the outgoing editorial board for its service and encouraged the new leadership to build on the foundation laid by its predecessors.
