D Block Bathrooms Still in Deplorable States
Weeks after resuming from the 8 month-long ASUU strike, D block occupants still bear the brunt of deteriorating bathroom facilities. Bathrooms on the third and second floor remain unusable due to leaking pipes and constantly accumulating water.
Recall that ZHPO had sampled the opinions of D block occupants on the consternating condition of their bathroom facilities. A cursory investigation revealed that the three bathrooms on the second floor are completely out of commission due to the leakage of water from the overhead pipes connecting to the third floor. As a result, second floor occupants have had to share bathrooms on other floors.

Similarly, only one of the third floor bathrooms is usable. However, those using the bathrooms have to better the tightrope walking agility of funambulists to avoid slipping on the waterlogged bathroom floors. Closer inspection showed that one of the bathroom tubs is constantly filled with water that seeps out to the bathroom floor.

It is dismaying to note that this issue remains unaddressed. Considering the level of external usage of D block’s facilities, especially as the Elders Council recently issued a notice against non-D blockites, it is imaginable how most D block occupants grapple with the challenge of using a bathroom on their floor everyday.
