IPE male football team drew with the MBBS team while KHE female team were also held to a draw by the ASSE female team in the opening match of the 2025 Seals Cup.
The matches which opened the seventh edition of the Seals Cup came with various side attractions. First was the opening ceremony, which began around 4pm, during which the trophy was paraded.
Then there was the first match of the female category between KHE and ASSE female teams, a match which ended in a 2-2 draw with goals from Lolade and Esther for ASSE, while Favour from KHE bagged a brace.
In the male category , IPE showed that they meant business early in the match when a corner was headed in by their skipper, Victor Kolawole, popularly known as VK, who also happens to be the current sport secretary of the UI SU.
The first half ended in favour of the IPE as they made sure all attempts by the MBBS were kept at bay. But the IPE dominance spell was broken in the second half when a free kick was converted to a goal by Sir Dave from the MBBS team; it didn't take long for the IPE to answer with another goal from Abraham.
As the match drew close to its end and it seemed IPE would win the game, a last-minute goal came in from Ola (Hollandia), for the MBBS team, making the match a draw between both IPE and MBBS
