Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall's Zik Hall League has kicked off to a sensational start as the Oluwole Ayomide-owned 1561 FC have, on the opening weekend, thrashed Bluelock FC six goals to nil to open their campaign.
Matchday one, which began with a commemorative match between the members of the hall executive council and the elders council, saw members of the executive council thrash the elders council players one goal to nil thanks to a goal from Bayo, the vice hall chair.
The league began officially with a match between Alma Guerrero and Vanguard FC, a match which Vanguard won thanks to a goal by Frank.
This match was followed by the match between Blaze FC and The Incredibles. The tightly fought match was narrowly won by The Incredibles. Despite goals by Shally, Tayo and Richard, The Incredibles took all three points thanks to goals by Emmanuel, Ayanfe and a Barnabas brace.
In the match between Indispensables FC and Da-ebs, Shayo's brace was not enough to guarantee a win, as goals from Toheeb and Lekan ensured that the points were shared. The freshmen team, Young Boys, also managed to share points with Masterclass FC.
Bluelock FC suffered a total demolition when 1561 FC managed to put six unanswered goals past them. Pade scored a hat trick, Agbowo had a brace, while Neymar contributed his own to compound the Bluelock team's woes.
The competition is scheduled to continue next weekend with Vanguard FC facing Da-ebs FC and 1561 FC clashing with Masterclass FC. Other matchups in the match day two include: The Indispensables FC vs Blaze FC; Bluelock FC vs Alma Guerrero and FCYoung Boys vs The Incredibles.
