The Union of Campus Journalists on Saturday, 11th of October, 2025 organised the second edition of the Global Campus Journalism Conference. This edition of the event featured the Famous Five Awards, the UCJ UI magazine launch, the induction ceremony, Sunday Oguntola essay and also the finals of the Prof Francis Egbokhare Inter Press Debate.
The event themed "From Campus to Newsroom: Sustaining Truth, Freedom and Innovation in the Age of AI” was graced by dignitaries in the field of media and journalism with keynote speeches delivered by Dr. Jide Johnson and the representative of Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa.
In the finals of the Inter Press Debate, Zik Hall Press Organization defeated Indy Press Organization with a score of 63.9% to 60.84%, while Clinical Sciences defeated Agropress to win in the faculty category with a score of 74.17% to 60.5%.
Highlight of the event included the presentation of awards and plaques to recipients in various categories.
