Zik Hall Legislative Council Approves N845,000 for Hall Shirt, Ratifies Co-opted Members

The Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Legislative Council (ZHLC) has approved the sum of eight hundred and fifty thousand naira N845,000 for the hall shirt package, at its subsequent sitting on Friday 24rd of March 2023.
According to a release by the House detailing its resolution at the sitting, “The sum of 845,000 naira was approved by the house for the Nnamdi Azikiwe hall shirt. The hall chairman, Hon. Morris, noted that 325 pieces will be made 293 for the people that paid for the shirts. While the remaining will be given to the hall management in appreciation of their efforts.” Upon inspection of the samples of the shirt, Hon. Ajibola of C4 constituency moved a motion for approval which was seconded by Hon. Elisha of B3 constituency.”
The House also deliberated on the books to be provided by the Executive Council as Hall package, In the budget breakdown for the hall shirt, the sum of 1000 naira was adopted for a unit of the book while 850 copies were approved by the house. 825 according to the Hall Chairman will be for Zikites who paid dues while the remaining 25 would be made available for the Hall Management.
Reacting to the request for 25 copies by the Hall Management. Hon. Oluwole, popularly known as Sanjay, questioned the Hall Management’s request on the floor of the House. The House however resolved to ratify the budget for the books with a clause restricting withdrawal from the Hall’s account for the books until samples have been provided to the House for inspection.
Other matters that was addressed at the sitting, was the admission of two newly co-opted members into the house. Mr Isaac Adeleke and Mr Adeoye AbdulMalik representing the D block constituency were ratified as co-opted members of the legislative council. In accordance with the provisions of the constitution. They were charged to perform their duties diligently.
The ratification of the judicial council which was earlier announced as a point of agenda of the sitting, was shelved and postponed for reasons unknown, as the Speaker, Hon. Igbaoreto Samuel and Clerk, Hon. Adeboye Adebisi Adewumi, both declined to give reasons for the postponement.
The sitting was held on Friday the 24th of March, 2023, and commenced at exactly 5:35pm at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall JCR with the honourables, members of the press and observers in attendance.
