Proper Documentation of Financial Records, Financial literacy Classes for Zikites and other plans of Zik Hall’s Finance Minister

By Saint

In a recent interview with ZHPO, Zik hall’s Minister for Finance, Mr. Musliudeen Toheeb, popularly known as Dean, discussed the progress of the execution of his manifesto plans.

While vying for office, Dean had promised proper documentation of the hall’s financial records according to global standards. He also stated his plan to facilitate the Zikite’s financial education by partnering with “registered financial literacy companies and other experts in financial knowledge and entrepreneurship.”

In addition, Mr. Musliudeen highlighted plans to improve the hall’s spending by evolving cost minimization strategies for hall projects and seeking sponsorships through well detailed proposals.

Speaking on the progress in implementation, Dean confirmed that the financial records of the hall are well documented as approved by the Hall Warden including records of expenditure. We have proper documentation on every fund received and spent, including the approved budget by the Hall Warden. I have a copy of everything with me.”

As regards the financial literacy programmes, the Minister for Finance commented that the programmes would have been better held during the ASUU strike when participation would have been more convenient. However, this was not feasible for personal reasons.

When asked about organizing the programmes since school has resumed, Dean stated, “Exams are getting closer so I don’t see the reason to start doing a financial literacy forum because people are preparing for their tests.”

Nonetheless, the Minister for Finance reassured that the financial literacy programme would still hold. According to him, the intermittent period between the two semesters would serve the purpose of the event since there would be less academic demands; my plan is that if perhaps we end up having a break of two weeks, we can organize online classes.

Elaborating on the procedure, Dean stated that, “we can get three tutors to take us on financial literacy, digital marketing, mini importation, I actually have a friend for that. We will organize WhatsApp classes, probably for four days for each of the courses that will be treated. We can also have four programmes and three days each to teach them.”

In respect of strategic sponsorships, Dean says, “although we already have a sponsor in the Executive Council that we are working on, I have an individual sponsor that I intend to use. Three weeks ago I still paid him a visit in his office. But I didn’t hint him about our proposal. Since the major events are in the second semester, I can remain in close association or perhaps go with another exco to pay him a visit. Then when it is the second semester that we actually require the funds we will let him know.”
